We are trying to make a DVD type program on a CD. The purpose of the program is a study aid for students in the US who have to take the SAT college entrance exams. The program simulates the actual test day environment complete with the classroom, other students, proctor, and real life distractions. To get an idea for what this product is like, please take a look at this link which is a product currently on the market: http://www. simugator. com/lsat-prep. htmlAs you can see, its a CD with a DVD program. Users can select to " play the movie " which will start from the beginning of the test all the way until the end with sections in between. During this movie, real life distractions and sounds are played. There is also a " scene selection " menu on the DVD menu home page where you can jump to certain sections of the movie, which corresponds to certain sections of the test. So in the example of the LSAT proctor, the LSAT test has 5 sections so the program will have 5 different scenes. Each scene has its own distractions. The reason why the distractions are such an important part of the program is it trains the user to deal with it as they take practice tests. This helps them increase focus during their real test day. We intend to create a better version of this program. Our intended upgrades may require more advanced skills than simple DVD making which is why we believe a multimedia software engineer will be needed. We want to input an audio track on the program that randomly selects distraction sounds from a database (so the distraction sounds are always random every time the program is played). We want to customize certain aspects of the movie such as changing the actors in it or the scenery. We also want to allow the user to customize the movie itself, such as how long it will be or how much distraction will take place. For this project, we will give you a copy of the current product out already on the market so you get a better idea of what it is like. We will provide you all of the movie files we shoot of the simulated test taking. You will need to compile the files we give you onto a CD and then also implement the features we want. Skills required will be DVD making, software development, multimedia skills, and preferably experience actually making software and then putting it on a CD. We are looking at Alfresco as an ECM product and potential replacement for SharePoint. We want to do a proof of concept with it for a small forms applications (leave request) that shows how the forms engine, workflow, and repository/search features work. Initially, we want to use the Community version before we start throwing lots of money into Alfresco's pockets.
