Web/Database Programmer
Hello, We are a small start-up company is attempting to build a Daily Fantasy Sports Game, where users can compete for cash daily. Our goal is to allow our users to draft a fantasy sports team of athletes in either the NBA, NHL, NFL, or MLB and possibly a concept mix of the sports. Once you complete that draft you can either challenge a friend, a random member or allow us to automatically assign an opponent. Each entry has an entry fee decided by the individual who's making the challenge and that entry fee has to be accepted by the opponent. ExampleIn the case of the NFL, the users will draft a team for the entire week. The winner is decided by a points system assigned to goals, assists, shots, touchdowns, catches and so on depending on what sport. If the entry fee was $20 then the winner takes all meaning $40 (essentially winning the opponents entry fee), minus a small percentage taken by us. Details: Need to have admin control to input player statistics, player names, injury reports and so on. We have a 3rd party which will source the live data feed to incorporate into our website to have live statistics for the users fantasy team. Need to have a database for all the new members that sign up and a database for the sports players name. A payment application, most likely pay pal for users to deposit and withdrawal money. Need to have a drag and drop feature incorporated with a player pool so users can make their fantasy team. There are detailed explanations on what else we need, but can not discuss until you have been hired and signed a confidentiality agreement. andnbsp; andnbsp; We will start with 1 sport first, which will be american baseball. To keep our project simple in the beginning, we will start with 1 sport, american baseball. Candidate will also be hired for our future expansion to other sports, such as Basketball and Football. We need our candidate to have a clear understanding to what type of website we are attempting to build. There are a few websites that are similar to our idea so please check out these websites listed below to get a feel for what we are attempting to accomplish. www. draftsheet. com< / a>www. fanduel. com< / a>I can not stress enough on that fact that our candidate has to have a CLEAR idea on what concept website we are attempting to build. Again, we are just starting with american baseball, and will begin with american football in June 2012. Please feel free to ask ANY questions in regarding anything. If you feel as if you are capable to completing this job but lack the concept of this idea, we can further describe our goals. Our budget is listed below, Please bid on the project. We do not expect this project to take 2 months or even a month. We will be interviewing clients throughout the week. Thank You and Good Luck.

Populate SQL Table with API Results
We are looking for a person who can mine the Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter APIs to fill out the missing data in a provided MySQL table. You will be given a table with 2M+ URLs. You need to write and execute a program that populates that table with information from the aforementioned APIs (the YouTube API will only apply to the YouTube links). We will give you access to a high end server with MySQL setup and the dataset precreated, you will be responsible for executing and filling that table. Spec: -You are given a MySQL table with following schemaURL: - String URL of a webpage. fb_likes: - Number of times the URL was liked on facebook. fb_shares: - Number of shares on facebook. fb_comments: - Number of comments on facebook. youtube_views: -youtube_likes: -youtube_shares: -youtube_comments: - twitter_shares: - Number of times the URL was shared on twitter. The table will contain millions of URLs and everything else will be null. We will give you a high end amazon linux machine with 8GB RAM and lots of computation power. You will write and execute a program that will go over the entire table and populate the remaining columns based on the URL for that particular row. The facebook stuff can be retrieved from http://graph. facebook. com/URL< / a>. Both twitter and Youtube have APIs too. Note that youtube columns only need to be filled if URL is a youtube video, i. e starts with www. youtube. com< / a>, otherwise they can remain empty. Platform: - You are free to pick between Java/Python/Perl. Your binary should be easily executable without much configuration on a standard Linux Machine. Scalability: - The table will contain atleast 2 Million URLs and your code should finish in reasonable time. You will be bottlenecked on the API limits, and your code should respect those API Limits. The completion of this task will entail you successfully running your program over our entire dataset, hence this is important that you take these issues into account.
