Background Information and Statement of PurposeAs the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) mobile projects move forward we have an enhanced need for QA across a wide range of mobile platforms and devices. Mobile is the primary form of access to Wikipedia in many parts of the world. Be part of the Wikipedia mission to spread free knowledge across the globe! Scope of WorkProvide QA testing and automation support for all Wikimedia Mobile projects including but not limited to: All Mobile Web projectsAndroid, iOS, and other platform appsAutomated testing (for example, scripting on Perfecto Mobile) Make mobile testing part of Wikimediaandrsquo; s core QA practices, and support continuous integration across mobile developmentYou need to be an experienced software tester and familiar with QA automation practices. Experience with mobile testing is a must. Term of ContractThe contract will commence on February 1st, 2012 at the earliest, for a duration of 6 months. Code developed through this project is expected to be licensed under the GNU GPLv2. Payments, Incentives, and PenaltiesThe contractor will be paid on a monthly basis. During the period of this contract, the contractor will be authorized to work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week on this project. The contractor is not authorized to work more than 40 hours in any given week unless the additional time is approved by your point of contact, in writing, in advance. The contractor will need to cover all legally required deductions, taxes and benefits out of this amount. Approved out-of-pocket expenses may be invoiced for reimbursement. In the event that either party become dissatisfied with the progress of the contract, and both parties have taken all reasonable steps to resolve or improve the situation without mutual satisfaction, this agreement can be terminated by either party with 10 daysandrsquo; written notice. These 10 days will be used for transition planning, handoff of all work to date, and necessary communication to all constituents. Wikimediaandrsquo; s fee obligation will be terminated at the end of the 10 days. Requirements for Proposal PreparationContractor should provide a letter with resume that indicates their qualifications to fulfill the requirements of the RFP.

Requirements- Clean/Multi Browser Friendly (mobile) - Static Content for Consulting Material- Ability to Edit (DRUPAL/WORDPRESS OK) - Photoshop and/or similar design abilities. No rookies pleases. - Ability to Blog (commenting allowed with email address and captcha) - Search Engine Optimization (SEO)-ready/friendly (tag/meta/etc) - Ability to work on your dev/staging site before moving to my permanent domain. I have dns and server ready with ability to run almost any platform. Sell me on one. - You need to know how to work with cpanel/phpmyadmin, and so on. Skills/Experience Requirement- Need to see 2-5 specific web sites you have worked on that will allow me to get a feel for you UI/UX and visual elements. More is better so I know you have experience. - Ability to work on the site on an on-going basis for ad-hoc work. Not often but more often early on as I get ideas and need help to implement. - Google Analytics and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are key to my success and ability to manage it. So knowing how to integrate and implement are key. I know how to use them, but I need a person to integrate into code. - Ability to integrate experience with Facebook and Twitter are also critical. I need to be able to have my post show up on my feeds for both sites and vice-versa. I also want to have my friends and fans show up on site. - LinkedIn ideas and experience would be a plus as well. - Pinterest as well. Payout will be based on phases: 1) alpha build - basic UI/UX built but final integration needed to be completed. (33%) 2) beta build - minor edits/bugs but working fb, twitter, and able to do full click test. minor content edits needed but almost ready for launch. Must have at least 3 years of experience in defect management and issues resolved to closure. Must have at least 2 years of experience of going through the entire software development life cycle of an application. Must have at least 2 years of experience testing software products with frequent release cycles andndash; e. g. new version upgrades Must have 2 years of experience to manage multiple project schedules at different phases of testing and handling project assignments independently. Minimum 2 years of experience in reviewing technical and functional specifications and develop QA test scenarios based on requirements. Demonstrated experience in reporting metrics and status updates progress to upper management. Must be able to coordinate QA tasks and priorities for each project including identifying QA/testing environment needs.
