I need a person to help me get an Amazon EC2 instance (Ubuntu 32 bit 10.04) set up so that a few friends of mine can ssh into it and practice their ruby on rails skills. andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; I used a bitnami image that already had ruby 1.93 and rails 3.2, but I am not sure what else. They are going through some rails tutorials and it would be very easy for them to ssh into this machine rather than me setting up each of their personal installs on their home computers. andnbsp; andnbsp;!! I also need a person to help us out now and then when I get stuck configuring it (like now). andnbsp; andnbsp; I enjoy RoR but I am a terrible sysadmin. Requirements: 1. andnbsp; andnbsp; each user needs to be able to ssh into the instance with a password (I already set thisandnbsp; andnbsp; in/etc/ssh/sshd_config or whatever that is) 2. andnbsp; andnbsp; each user should be able to create new rails projects, install gems, and so on. andnbsp; andnbsp; right now if I create an account, for the new accounts rails is not installed. 3. andnbsp; andnbsp; mysql should be installed4. andnbsp; andnbsp; postgresql should be installed5. andnbsp; andnbsp; sqlite should be installed6. andnbsp; andnbsp; Everything that is necessary to run a basic rails app should work. andnbsp; andnbsp; I. e, if you don't know anything bout RoR you are probably not suitable for this job. andnbsp; andnbsp; Right now, for example, I am trying to figure out how to get node. js working. andnbsp; andnbsp; I need help. 7. andnbsp; andnbsp; I might need additional (not emergency) help in the next weeks if we have further needs. 8. andnbsp; andnbsp; I would not mind being able to vnc into this machine or export gnome out of it, but that's not a requirement. Please bid an hourly rate, I 'd like to lock this down as soon as possible so my friends can learn RoR.

I am seeking some assistance with a new website database that I am modeling. I would like your expert databaseA critique and suggestions for my normalization strategy, as I am not an expert on this. I will provide you with my written requirements, documentation, and examples of my current schema and vision. andnbsp; andnbsp; After you read my documentation, you can help me find the most efficient storage method for long-term speed, stability, and scalability. Once you have an understanding of my documentation, I would like to have live meetings via Skype or some other technology. The website we are upgrading is http://www. priceplow. com< / a> and we are going to have a massive amount of product data in this database. andnbsp; andnbsp; We are going to focus on the product information, as the CMS will take care of many other parts of the database. So far, I have chosen postgresql for the database at this point, as I currently have a parent/child relationship within a table and will need recursive queries to retrieve the data (you may suggest alternative plans). andnbsp; andnbsp; This removes MySQL from my suggested RDMBS. andnbsp; andnbsp; The CMS will be Drupal 7. I am still finalizing documentation and would like to start next week (Week of Feb 7). Thanks! Mike
