We have data in a MS SQL 2008 R2 Standard database for orders from our customers. The MS Sharepoint server is on the network, but not on the same PC and the MS SQL 2008 data is not in Sharepoint server. We wish to create a simple application for call center agents to be able to look up and retrieve orders information. They will not be modifying or changing any aspects of the orders. They will be able to search by order number, first and last name. When they locate the order, they 're able to see a) The order existb) Address of the shipment. c) status of the orderd) If shipped, they will see shipping information (tracking number, carrier, shipped date) e) the orders the call center will see will only be from one " store " of orders (designated in a column field with store name) f) if customer ask for some assistance, a button will be clicked on for a 2nd sharepoint page that automatically grab the order that is presently being researched. In a simple field, the agent will click a drop down box for reason to escalate to a manager and have the oppurtunity to fill in some notes. Then we will make this page accessable by the managers. This 3rd page will have the submitted information from the agents with OPEN status when come in. Manager have oppurtunity to CLOSE case, but must fill out reason for being closed with possible drop down menu and user notes.
