THE COMPANYIn January 2012, veterans of The Onion, MoveOn, and Facebook are joining together to launch a viral media startup that will spread important, compelling ideas to hundreds of millions of people online and make being a progressive fun again. Our first round of funding is complete andndash; - now we need a great user-experience/visual designer to help us hit the ground running. THE POSITION: EXPERIENCE DESIGNERWeandrsquo; re looking for a great user-experience and visual designer to help develop the look and feel of our site, design insanely intuitive web-based tools, and generally advocate for The User. First and foremost, weandrsquo; re looking for an extremely talented person whoandrsquo; s a pleasure to work with; weandrsquo; re open to molding the position to your strengths. You could beandhellip; andbull; a talented visual designer who makes masterpieces on 980px-wide canvas (that also look great at 320px or 640px), can turn a URL into a identity that conveys our entire brand, and could design a gorgeous custom WordPress or Tumblr theme in a couple days. andbull; a gifted interaction designer who knows how lives to turn four-step processes into single-page actions, understands user psychology as well as A/B testing, and loves to design tools that are as easy for Baby Boomers to use as they are exciting for 20-somethings to evangelize. andbull; a brilliant front-end engineer who debugs AJAX in your sleep, loves design but hasnandrsquo; t touched Photoshop in years, and named your dog jQuery. Youandrsquo; re closer to an engineer than a oil painter, but you still know how to make things look nice. Weandrsquo; d probably hire out for initial branding, but look to you for everything else. Ideally, you are all three of these, wrapped up nicely with a bow. But if you are strong in any two, or absolutely nail any one of them, letandrsquo; s talk.
